Tell us the story of your injury and amputation.

I had a knee replacement surgery done in India (Feb 2008). I developed blood clots and had chronic ulceration, for which I had multiple surgeries, including skin grafts and laser surgery to heal, but later developed a life threatening infection. As a result, the lifesaving amputation was performed.

What type of prosthetic device are you wearing?

Above-knee prosthesis.

“I feel like I have a new life – a beautiful life with lots of energy in my body.”

Do you have any advice to share with new patients in similar situations?

I am happy… I hope everyone who has this [procedure] can be happy and enjoy life again.

How has your prosthesis changed your life?

I feel like I have a new life – a beautiful life with lots of energy in my body.

Is there any other information you’d like to share?

All of the people at CPO love and respect me and give me energy. They give me energy every time I see them.
