Indications:
Isolated quad weakness/ paralysis
Lower extremity weakness
Knee instability in sagittal plane during stance phase
Increased stability compared to free or offset knee joints
Grade 3-5 hip extensor strength

Contraindications:
Impaired cognition
Knee flexion contracture greater than 10 degrees
Greater than 10 º genu varum/valgum
Greater than 265 lbs
Less than 10º of ankle motion

Knee flexion during swing
Stability during stance
Reduction in energy cost = more active lifestyle
Reduction of gait deviations = less compensatory motions and less medical complications
